The trustees convene regularly to review the organisation’s financial statements, assessing both income and expenditure. Staff members do not receive salaries; however, essential day-to-day expenses such as rent, utilities, insurance, taxes, licenses, legal fees, IVA, taxes, and property maintenance are covered. After accounting for these expenditures, the trustees determine the surplus funds available for distribution each month. We maintain an emergency fund to address immediate charitable needs, allocating the remaining balance to support a range of local, national, and international charities.
Our primary focus of support is directed towards THE KENYA FUND, a charitable initiative managed by Trustees Bob and Mary Barham. Having dedicated years living and working in Kenya, they have been steadfast supporters of various charities. Through THE KENYA FUND, we extend our assistance to orphans, street children, and vulnerable children within families. The operations in Kenya are overseen by a qualified local social worker. Our approach emphasises keeping children within their families, covering expenses such as residential and local education costs, rather than utilising orphanages. We have links for donating surplus clothes to churches in Los Alcazares working with the “field workers” living in extremely poor conditions. We also work with the Abraham Project based in Cartagena, they can recycle damaged or unsuitable clothing.
